Language Services

At SBH Health System we provide translation and interpretation services in over 300 languages, available 24/7, at no cost to our patients. You can access these services through various options, including Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) tablets, a dedicated phone line, our mobile app, or in person American Sign Language interpreters.

Whether you are at the hospital or connecting remotely, our language services are here to make sure every patient receives the care and information they need in their preferred language.

For families and patients who prefer to communicate in a language other than English, we provide certified medical interpreters free of charge.

Interpreters can help you and your family during all phases of your care, whether you are visiting us for testing or treatment or have been admitted to the hospital.

This service is provided through remote video and telephone interpreting services. Additionally an on-site interpreter can be provided.

Vital documents are available in the most frequently spoken languages, which includes Spanish.

These and other written materials, including educational information, are available in your preferred language. In addition, if you have important documents such as medical records that are written in another language, we can facilitate having them translated into English for you.

If you communicate using sign language or have a family member who does, we can provide a certified medical interpreter free of charge.

This service is provided through remote video. A face-to-face interpreter can be assigned. A request can be made to your healthcare team.

For people who are blind or visually impaired, vital documents are available in Braille and in large print. Please speak with your healthcare team for more information about document availability.
