SBH Presents Dinner with a Doctor

Albanian Dinner with a Doctor

Dr. Sulejman Celaj, MD, Director of Cardiac Catheterization at St. Barnabas Hospital, presented “Yes, Heart Disease Can Be Prevented” in Albanian on March 17 as part of the hospital’s ongoing multi-lingual Dinner With A Doctor series. TV cameras from Albanian TV and journalists from the local Albanian press covered the event as Dr. Celaj addressed a full house from the Albanian community in the hospital boardroom.

The same topic was covered in Spanish the previous evening by Dr. Aramis Bermudez and in English by Dr. Ernest Patti on the following night.

For people who are seeking information on a particular health issue, Dinner With A Doctor may be just what the doctor ordered. It’s an open invitation to the community to hear a presentation by a St. Barnabas physician while enjoying a free buffet-style dinner, followed by plenty of opportunities for questions and answers. With guests seated around a large conference table, the atmosphere is comfortable and low-key, allowing communication to flow easily.

Previous topics in the series have included “Medication Issues for Seniors,” presented by Dr. Joel Sender, and “Living With Diabetes Is Easier Than You Think,” presented by Dr. James Hellerman in English and Dr. Braulio Carrero in Spanish.

Our next Dinner With A Doctor, scheduled for June 8, (English), June 9 (Spanish), and 10 (Yoruba), from 6:00 pm – 8:00pm, will feature Dr. Emilio Goez, DPM, discussing health issues related to foot care. For further information, call 718-960-9295.
