Qualifications

The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for database support, dashboard and operational reporting and data analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Evaluates user’s needs and requests for information systems relative to current systems and available technologies and applications.
•Evaluates processes as requested and recommends re-engineering around utilization of computerized applications to maximize departmental and organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
•Serve as liaison with user departments in resolving system/application issues.
•Evaluates problem situations in depth, arrives at independent conclusions and coordinates problem resolution for issues related to information systems use and implementation within the department, among departments and disciplines, with medical staff and outside vendors.
•Develops system documentation and user manuals.
•Responsible for adjusting database table fields, write queries, and create reports based on department needs.
•Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance, technical and functional support for information systems throughout the organization.  Identify system deficiencies, analyze system problems and formulate solutions. 
•Develop familiarity with data dictionary/field definitions for appropriate applications.
•Develop ability to generate moderately complex SQL queries as requested by user departments.
•Provides support to management by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results.
•Chart data flows of existing and new systems based on conversations with IT and business analysts

Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in CIS, Computer Engineering or Medical Engineering
Experience:
•2-4 years active and progressive experience with healthcare data.
•Experience writing and analyzing SQL queries
•Experience with MS Visio and data flow charting
•Developing business and functional requirements based on business needs
•Understanding of a wide range of interpretive analysis tools (e.g. trend analysis, spreadsheets, comparisons, graphs, summary versus detail charts, drill down, correlations, exception analysis)

St. Barnabas Hospital is a large New York City multi-site Community Hospital and a Designated Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center located in the Belmont section of the Bronx. We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor of the Cardio-Respiratory Department for the Night Shift. Candidate plans, supervises, delegates and is responsible for the functions and activities reporting to him/her. Exerts leadership in assisting the staff to make decisions and coordinates the overall activities. Other responsibilities will include evaluation and implementation of new equipment, education and training of all disciplines, as well as maintaining an active role in the quality, safety and patient satisfaction programs. Qualified applicants must be a graduate from an approved respiratory therapy education program and a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). In addition, a current New York State License (RT) is required, a valid NYCFD COF G-17, BCLS Certification and a minimum of five years respiratory care experience, including 1 year in the critical care setting, and at least 1 year supervisory experience is preferred.
