Donated Coats, Books, Toys and Food to be Distributed

Clean and gently used coats, toys, books and canned goods that have been donated to the Fordham-Tremont Community Health Clinic will be distributed to members of the community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday, January 14, 2011 (in the lobby at 2021 Grand Concourse in the Bronx) from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This is the second year the drive is being held and goods have been collected since September by Fordham-Tremont, the behavioral health arm of St. Barnabas Hospital.

“We saw mothers who came in during the dead of winter without overcoats for themselves or their young children.  They just couldn’t believe they were being given nearly brand new coats, said Kathleen M. Bowman, Director of Operations / Project Mgmt at Fordham-Tremont.  Fordham-Tremont provides services to a community which has the highest unemployment rate in New York State.  We feel privileged to support the people of this Bronx community.
